Enterprise Risk Manager





Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

  • Working with other members of the Risk function – as well as the wider business – to identify, assess, monitor and report on the Enterprise-level risks that exist within the business.

  • Supporting the reporting and governance structures that underpin the effective implementation of ERM.

  • Monitoring the Enterprise Risk dashboard for the Risk Committee which will enable effective oversight of all enterprise-level risks.   Provide the enterprise risk dashboard and associated summary reports to Group Management.

  • Helping to draft reports for the Risk Committee, summarising the key findings of risk assessment work and other relevant issues and making recommendations

  • Maintaining the Risk Register (individual risks to be owned by respective risk owners)


Business / Operational Risk

Providing a “second line of defence” for the business in relation to:


Business Risk

  • Carrying out risk assessments on business strategy, new products or major business change initiatives.

  • Providing insight on external matters that may impact the bank e.g. regulatory changes, macro-economic factors, etc.

Operational Risk Management

  • Working with the business to help to identify and assess operational risks considering potential impact to the business, customers and to regulatory objectives, this will be through risk workshops, risk assessments and the RICSA process.

  • Overseeing the design and operation of the Risk Identification &  Control Self Assessment (“RICSA”) and Early Warning Bulletin (“EWB”) processes

  • Providing second line of defence coverage on matters such as technology, project, fraud, regulatory and/or data risks.

Financial Risk Management

  • Escalating financial risk issues to ExCo and the Risk Committee as necessary

  • Maintaining the “pillar 2” Risk Register capital allocation list for the purposes of ICAAP.
